Jennifer Vitale Senior Collection... Here it is!!!

Hello Everyone!!

During senior year each design student is required to design a senior collection. We do research and come up with concepts to base them off of. We find fabrics and design clothing that we then show to a critic.  My senior collection is based off of the artwork of Kelly Rae Roberts. I titled if Heirloom because Kelly Rae's work and words remind me of lessons and advice that would be passed from Mother to daughter, sister to sister, friend to friend. I tried to keep the  the feel of her work and interpret it into clothing while still keeping my artistic point of view and style. The fashion show was such a wonderful night and congrats to all of my fellow fashion girls from Moore. (All garments are sewn, knitted, and designed by me)

So without further or due here it is!!

Heres a video of my section of the show. The song I chose for my ladies to walk to was Send Me On My Way by Rusted Root

My original sketch. I made the center five.

Me with my final collection all together. I also made my skirt to match. Taken by Jeff Cohn

The first look has loom-knit leg warmers and a fabric woven waistband for the skirt. The skirt also has a hand appliqued bird that uses hand cut leather sequins and beads as accenting details. The jacket is brushed denim. Taken by Jeff Cohn

Shrug is loom-knit with a cable down the back. The yellow top is smocked and the pencil skirt is a  Michael Miller print. Photo taken by Victor Rodriguez
The cowl was loom-knitted. I also patched the side of the jeans (which are brushed denim) and the back pockets are patched and distressed. Taken by Jeff Cohn

I also found the most perfect buttons which just fit perfectly.(they come in different colors too...i used every color)
M&J Trimming

This is not part of my senior collection but is my eveningwear. The over all theme this year was Paris 1910 to 1920. My concept was Siren of the Seine. The idea was that the mermaid would have just come out to the river with a net full of jewels and beads. the whole top of the dress is knitted and beaded. I also hand sequined the bottom of the dress.
