Taking Steps and Illustration Friday

Before this week I hadn't drawn for fun since I graduated (9 months ago). I have drawn designs but I had not just thrown myself into a paper and sketched what I felt... That cycle ended this week.

For a long time now I have been wanting to do Illustration Friday always looking at the topics thinking what I could draw, what I could say. So this week when I said I'm going to actually do it I found the topic to be perfect. The topic this week was "Forward". I love this because to me it serves as a reminder to always move forward and even if it seems hard, it's simply one foot in front of the other. That's why I chose to draw two feet taking that fearless first step.

I recently decided to invest in Kelly Rae Roberts "Flying Lessons". I really admire her work and how she has really made a business out of what she loves (my goal). I figured that having words of wisdom from someone who has been there, done that, and is willing to share their journey is well worth it. Any who the reason I brought it up is because she has whole chapter in there about facing your fears and to not let your fears get in your way. I feel that that chapter precisely gave me the courage to finally jump in and share my little drawing. A little drawing that is not perfect but it was perfect for what I needed, to take that small little step forward.
